Sir-tech, Tribsoft and Titan Computer Partner to Bring You Jagged Alliance 2 on Linux

Montreal, Quebec, October 24, 2000 - Tribsoft announced that it entered in a partnership with Titan Computer to join forces to increase the popularity of Linux as a gaming operating system. Among the first profiled titles, Titan Computers will publish the English version of Sir-tech's Jagged Alliance 2 for Linux.

Titan Computer will publish worldwide games that Tribsoft are porting to the Linux operating system. Among the responsibilities, Titan Computer will handle the publishing, distribution, marketing and the support for the games ported by Tribsoft for Linux.

"We believe that we found the perfect partner. We are happy that Titan Computer are now publishing for Linux. We are confident that Titan Computer will take good care of our work" said Tribsoft's president Mathieu Pinard.

"We are pleased to find a competent and reliable partner with Tribsoft. We are looking forward into a good and long business relationship" said Michael Garlich, manager of Titan Computer.

The release of the Linux version of Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business will be announced later. It will be released at the same time as the Windows version is published by Interplay.

Sir-tech Canada is the creator and developer of the original series, including Jagged Alliance 2. "We specialize in the creation of original computer based games," said Ian Currie, the creator of the series and now part of Sir-tech Canada. "Tribsoft has demonstrated their competency working with the Linux operating system, so under license from Sir-tech Canada, Tribsoft ported Jagged Alliance 2 to Linux from the Windows platform." By working with Tribsoft, we will be able to remain focused on developing more great original products, including the sequel Jagged Alliance 3.

Under terms of the agreement with Titan Computer, Sir-tech will be working directly with Titan Computer coordinating the release, marketing materials, and the future direction of the Jagged Alliance franchise. "We're equally delighted to be working with Titan Computer to bring Jagged Alliance 2 to an exciting new market" said Ian Currie. Publishing products is no easy matter and critical to the continued success of the Jagged Alliance franchise, so we take Titan Computer's role very seriously."

Jagged Alliance 2 puts you in command of a team of highly-skilled mercenaries as you struggle to free the small country of Arulco from the rule of a ruthless dictator. A mix of strategy, role-playing, and gun-blazing tactics, Jagged Alliance 2 features non-linear game play, over 200 sectors to conquer, scores of characters, and thousands of lines of digitized speech. The Windows version has already won dozens of International awards including "Best Game of the Year."

The Linux version of Jagged Alliance 2 will be available in November 2000. Other games will be announced shortly.

Jagged Alliance voice actor in "The Whole Nine Yards"

Warner Brother's "The Whole Nine Yards" starring Bruce Willis, Rosanna Arquette and Matthew Perry was recently released to the home video market in North America on VHS and DVD. Towards the end of the film, a police interrogator is interviewing Rosanna Arquette's character. The interrogator is none other than Mark Comacho, one of the talented actors behind Jagged Alliance's vast array of characters, and one of the games' biggest fans.

For the first Jagged Alliance, Mark lent his voice to create the roles of "It", "Lance" and "Boss". In Jagged Alliance 2, Mark brings to life "Shadow", "Igor", "Gasket" and "Jake".

Apparently, the May issue of Computer Games magazine reported that we had stopped working on Jagged Alliance 3. Rest assured, this is not the case! Read the correction posted today in Computer Games Online.

Merry Christmas!
Woohoo! :D Since we get Christmas Eve off, we want to give the Jagged Alliance 2 fans a Christmas present! We have released the English language Jagged Alliance patch version 1.06, which includes the cheat codes! Click here to download the 3.4MB patch.
  • These are the following changes made in the patch:
  • The AP cost for firing a Talon grenade launcher has been corrected.
  • The accuracy of the Talon grenade launcher has been improved.
  • A re-appearing sector inventory situation has been resolved.
  • If the last enemy in a sector is non visible and he dies, the game will now recognize that the sector is clear.
  • An item duplication situation has been corrected.
  • A problem related to firing someone in a vehicle when the sector was currently loaded has been resolved.
  • A crash situation related to characters having statistics of 100 has been resolved.

By popular demand, cheat keys have been included in this release. The cheat ability can be turned on by holding down CTRL and typing G A B B I when in the tactical game screen. Beware; if you use these keys, you have the potential to create havoc! For example, if you were to teleport a character to a non-valid location it could cause problems, etc. If problems occur as a result of using the cheat keys, our technical support staff will be unable to help correct the situation. If you choose to use these keys, please be sure to save your game first. This backup will prove useful, should problems develop. Once cheat mode is turned on, you can use:
